Bay of Fundy Reclaimed Drift Wood
Lobster Crate Coat/Hat/Towel Rack
19.5" x 7"
One day while having coffee in my son’s backyard, staring at his pile of driftwood, I said, “you should make a hat rack for me”. He said, “you should make a hat rack”, and the rest is history. I have been making hat racks for 3 years and selling them at the Alderney Landing Market.
The wood has been dried for a year, I choose not to put any finish on the wood, you can if you choose.
This piece is from a vintage lobster crate. The wooden crates were once used to store lobsters in the water for a limited time, The water could flow in and out and, when needed, the crates would be hauled back into the boat to sell. The holes on the side are where the rope handle was tied.
